Are these silver hoops waterproof, and will they tarnish?

No, they will not tarnish. The rhodium plating is a platinum-group metal that does not oxidise, so the bright finish holds — water, sweat and handwashing will not harm it. After the pool or the sea, rinse them in fresh water, dry them fully and return them to their box; chlorine and salt are what wear a finish, not water itself. The crescent shape is also sold as a half moon earring, and in Arabic the crescent is the hilal (هلال) — the same new moon watched for at the start of Ramadan.
How do you wear crescent hoop earrings?

They work with a crisp white tee, straight-leg denim and an oversized blazer for daytime, and just as well against a plain abaya in the evening.
