The crescent works harder in gold than it does in silver. A graduated profile — narrow at the post, thickest through the bottom of the curve — puts the mass where the light lands, and warm metal amplifies it: the ribbed lines throw a series of small highlights rather than one broad flash, which is what keeps a small gold hoop from reading as flat. Building it on 925 sterling silver rather than brass is what lets the gold layer be this substantial, and what allows the piece to be re-plated later instead of discarded.

What is the difference between gold vermeil and gold plated?

Ordinary gold plating can be a very thin layer over any base metal, usually brass. Vermeil requires a sterling silver base and a much thicker layer of gold. These are 18K gold vermeil over 925 silver, so the colour lasts far longer than plating, and because the base is silver the piece can be re-plated rather than replaced. Gold does not tarnish. Like any gold layer it is not permanent — rinse and dry them after the pool or the sea, and keep them in their box.
Who suits small gold crescent hoops?

Warm and olive skin tones take 18K especially well, and at 16.23 mm the crescent is small enough to wear daily rather than only for occasions. Wear your hair up so light passes through the open curve. Against a black or navy abaya the warm gold does the lifting a silver pair will not — and if your tone runs cooler, the rhodium silver version of the same crescent is the better match.
