A Hamsa hand carved in 925 sterling silver and filled with hand-applied teal enamel, held in an openwork round frame and centred on a genuine yellow opal at the protective eye. The opal is a warm golden-yellow with natural play-of-colour — the flashes of spectral fire that only a real opal shows. A note on the stone, from our gemologist: opal's play-of-colour shifts with the light, reading strongest in soft, indirect light and quieter under harsh direct light, so its fire looks liveliest in everyday wear rather than under a hard spotlight. This is the nature of a natural opal, not a variation in quality. At 22 mm and 10.2 g on a 40 cm chain, it sits light at the collarbone. Each natural opal is inspected by our in-house gemologist, Elie Ammoun, Graduate Gemologist (IGI), with independent certification available on request.
Instructions
  • Wipe the silver with a soft, dry cloth; clean the enamel and opal gently with a barely damp cloth only — never soak, steam, or use ultrasonic cleaners.
  • Put on after perfume, sunscreen, and lotion, and remove before showering, swimming, or sleeping.

The Hamsa — Kaf Fatima, the Hand of Fatima — is a centuries-old symbol of protection across the region, traditionally worn to deflect Al-Ayn, the evil eye, from the wearer. Here it's rendered in calm teal enamel with a warm yellow opal at the eye — protection worn quietly, as everyday jewellery rather than a loud statement.
