The Sea Turtle Necklace is the only fauna pendant in the Luna Dura catalogue combining genuine Mother of Pearl shell inlay with black enamel on rhodium-plated 925 silver. Most UAE market turtle pendants at this price use synthetic shell or resin; the MOP here is genuine, its natural iridescence shifting with light in a way no synthetic replicates. The black enamel flippers create a high-contrast monochromatic palette against the white shell and bright rhodium — referencing the natural colouring of the hawksbill turtle. The pendant has a gently domed shell profile for realistic three-dimensional form. Rhodium plate ensures lasting tarnish resistance. Assembled in the Luna Dura studio, Sheikh Zayed Road, Dubai.
Instructions
  • Fasten the lobster clasp before putting the necklace on — clip it closed first, then bring the chain over the head and settle it at the desired length.
    Use the 5 cm extension to adjust the chain between 40 cm and 45 cm — the pendant sits best at 40–42 cm on most necklines, resting just above the collarbone.
    The domed Mother of Pearl shell faces outward — handle the pendant by the chain when taking off to avoid pressing the shell against hard surfaces.
    Do not layer with rough-textured chains directly against this pendant, as contact can scratch the enamel edges.
    Store the necklace with the clasp fastened to prevent the lobster clasp from snagging on the chain links.
  • This necklace is made from 925 sterling silver with rhodium plating, genuine Mother of Pearl shell inlay, and black enamel. To protect all three surfaces, avoid contact with perfume, hairspray, sunscreen, and chlorinated or salt water. Do not use ultrasonic cleaners — these can loosen the MOP inlay and damage the enamel surface. Do not use abrasive cloths or silver polish — the rhodium plate is a surface coating and abrasion will wear it away. Remove before swimming or showering. After each wear, wipe gently with a soft dry cloth. Take care around the enamel-to-silver junctions, where the black finish meets the rhodium frame — this edge is where wear first appears if the necklace is not handled carefully.
